Safe Travels with These 4 Driving Tips This Holiday Season

Safe Travels with These 4 Driving Tips This Holiday SeasonAs we near the end of this holiday season, Best in Show Collision Repair would like to offer the following thoughts regarding safe travel on the roads, so that our customers will arrive safely to their chosen destinations.

  1. Be a responsible driver. Never, ever, get behind the wheel after imbibing in liquid cheer. Don’t be too proud to hand over your keys to a designated driver, no matter how long or how short your drive will be.
  2. Allow extra time for holiday travel. Not only may traffic be bad, but weather conditions may deteriorate quickly when you are on the road, so give yourself extra time to arrive at your destination.
  3. Rest before embarking on a long trip. Sure, we understand that you will probably want to be on the road as soon as the kids are out of school and you are off work, but don’t let the excitement of the holiday cloud your good judgment. If you are tired, rest first; as you drive, if you find you are being hypnotized by the road and are fighting sleep, don’t be afraid to pull off and rest, grab a cup of coffee and an energy bar, or just walk around outside of your vehicle for a few moments.
  4. Don’t be afraid to report dangerous or erratic driving behavior. Unfortunately, the holidays aren’t a time of peace and goodwill for everyone. If you encounter a problem with an angry driver, put some distance between your vehicle and the vehicle of the other driver, and don’t engage.
